Our Commitment to Safety

At The Tiny Traders, the safety of babies and children is our highest priority. We are committed to creating a trusted marketplace where families can confidently buy and sell pre-loved children’s items. Every seller is responsible for ensuring that the items they list are safe, legal to sell, and accurately described. By listing an item on The Tiny Traders, you confirm that all information provided is true and accurate to the best of your knowledge.

General Product Standards

All items listed for sale must: • Be clean, hygienic and ready for use. • Be safe and in good working order. • Include all essential parts, accessories and safety features unless clearly stated otherwise. • Be accurately described, including any defects, damage or signs of wear. • Comply with all applicable UK product safety legislation. • Not be subject to a manufacturer or government safety recall.

Tiny Traders reserves the right to remove any listing that we believe poses a safety risk.

As child safety is paramount, strict rules apply to all car seats listed on The Tiny Traders.

Car seats must not be listed if they:

• Have been involved in any road traffic accident or collision, regardless of severity. • Have exceeded the manufacturer’s recommended lifespan or expiry date. • Have been modified or altered in any way. • Have missing or damaged safety components. • Are subject to a manufacturer or government safety recall. • Are missing the original harness, buckle or other essential safety parts.

By listing a car seat, the seller confirms that, to the best of their knowledge, it has never been involved in an accident and is safe for continued use.

Pushchairs, Prams & Travel Systems

These items must: • Fold and unfold correctly. • Lock securely in both the folded and open positions where applicable. • Have fully functioning brakes. • Include a working safety harness. • Be structurally sound with no cracks or damage that could affect safety. • Be clean and accurately described.

Cots, Cot Beds & Moses Baskets

These items must: • Meet current UK safety standards where applicable. • Be structurally sound. • Include all original fixings and essential parts. • Not have been modified. • Not have broken slats, loose fittings or damaged frames.

Any damage affecting the safety or stability of the product must be clearly disclosed or the item must not be listed.

Mattresses

Mattresses must: • Be clean and dry. • Be free from mould, mildew and infestation. • Be free from significant staining or odours. • Be accurately described with any imperfections disclosed.

For hygiene reasons, buyers are encouraged to inspect photographs carefully and ask questions before purchasing.

Highchairs

Highchairs must: • Be stable and safe to use. • Include the original safety harness unless clearly stated otherwise. • Lock securely where applicable. • Have no structural damage or missing safety parts.

Baby Carriers & Slings

Baby carriers and slings must: • Include all original straps, clips and fastenings. • Be free from tears or damage that could compromise safety. • Not be subject to any manufacturer recall.

Safety Gates

Safety gates must: • Include all original fittings and wall fixings where required. • Lock securely. • Be free from damage that could affect safe use.

Electrical Baby Equipment

Electrical items such as sterilisers, baby monitors, swings, rockers and bottle warmers must:

• Be in safe working order. • Include the correct power cable or charger where applicable. • Have no exposed wiring or electrical damage. • Be clean and accurately described.

Toys

Toys must: • Be clean and safe. • Be suitable for resale. • Be free from broken parts or sharp edges. • Include batteries only where safe to do so. • Not be subject to any manufacturer recall.

Age recommendations should be included where known.

Nursery Furniture

Nursery furniture must: • Be structurally sound. • Include all necessary fixings. • Have no damage that affects safety. • Be accurately described.

Any modifications should be clearly disclosed.

Clothing, Footwear & Textiles

Items should: • Be freshly washed where appropriate. • Be free from excessive staining or damage unless clearly described. • Be free from strong odours. • Be accurately described.

If an item comes from a home where smoking or pets are present, sellers are encouraged to disclose this in the listing to help buyers make an informed decision.

Product Recalls

Items that have been recalled by a manufacturer, Trading Standards or another regulatory authority must not be listed for sale.

If a seller becomes aware that an item has been recalled after listing it, they must remove the listing immediately.

Seller Responsibilities

Every seller is responsible for ensuring that:

• They legally own the item. • They have the right to sell it. • Their description is accurate. • All photographs are of the actual item being sold. • Any defects are clearly disclosed. • The item is safe for resale.

Knowingly providing false or misleading information may result in listings being removed, account suspension or permanent removal from The Tiny Traders.

The Tiny Trade's Role

The Tiny Traders provides an online marketplace that connects buyers and sellers.

We do not inspect, test or verify every item listed on our platform and cannot guarantee the condition, safety, authenticity or legality of items offered for sale.

Buyers should review listings carefully, ask questions where necessary and satisfy themselves that an item meets their needs before completing a purchase.

The Tiny Traders reserves the right to remove any listing that breaches this policy or that we believe may present a safety risk.
